In Parliament today, Minister Khaw Boon Wan reported on our progress in tackling housing issues. Singles will be able to purchase new 2-Room BTO flats from the July BTO exercise. We are also extending the Parenthood Priority Scheme to expectant mothers, and improving chances for married first-timer applicants to get BTO flats. Mr Khaw also spoke about the housing needs of second-timers, divorcees/widowed, as well as seniors. Meanwhile, HDB will continue to hold BTO prices steady, de-linked from the resale market, until the property market stabilises.
